Moussa Nazmi
26 years "Recycling School Graduate”

Moussa was born in the Garbage Collectors neighborhood of Manshiyet Nasr. He graduated from the school with a certificate in literacy and computer skills and returned to teach grade three. He is self-taught in English and leads trips of the Zabbaleen neighborhood for foreign visitors. 

Moussa has received a grant from International Center for Environment and Development for a plastic granulation machine, enabling him to start his own business specializing in the recycling of plastic and he also lent a hand in Spirit of Youth’s Solar Water Heater Program which helped to turn solar energy into thermal energy to heat the homes of 30 poor families in the area. 

Moussa hopes to continue to his studies in English to be able to communicate with international recycling companies. 
                                                                                  

Adham Fawzi
26 years, "Recycling School Graduate”

Adham is the son of Garbage Collectors in Manshiyet Nasr. While attending the Recycling school, he was fortunate to travel to Wales to study and compare foreign recycling processes. 

Adham is one of the boys featured in the documentary film “Garbage Dreams,” and traveled to the award ceremony for the Al Gore Reel Current Award as well as the International Documentary Film Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark where it received the “Best Documentary Film” award.

Adham ran a workshop for the recycling of tin cans and improved his business through collection, transport, and selling of tin containers in and around Cairo.

Adham is currently studying in New York in the USA.
